Sacrificing Beauty for Family in Little Women

Little Women is a story about four sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, growing up during the Civil War.

They live with their mom, Marmee, while their dad is away. Each sister is unique: Meg is responsible, Jo is adventurous, Beth is kind, and Amy is artistic.

Jo’s Bold Decision

Jo from Little Women is a cool and brave girl. She did something surprising to help her family, and decided to cut her beautiful hair to get money for her family.

She brought $25 to help make their father comfortable at home, and her family was surprised and worried about how she got the money.

Jo assured them she earned it honestly and didn’t do anything wrong.

Unveiling Short Hair

When she revealed her short hair, everyone was shocked. They loved her anyway, especially Beth, who hugged her.

Jo pretended not to care much about her hair, saying it was good for her vanity.

She explained it would be easier to manage and soon could be a curly crop.
