Aristotle's Vision for the True Aim of Tragedy

The tragedy of Othello, the Moore of Venice is a play written by Shakespeare. This play is talking about two characters falling in love and fighting against all the challenges to prove to everyone that difference can make a successful marriage.

The Theme

Shakespeare wrote the play about different races and Social hierarchy during the racist era when Elizabeth I was ruling England. The theme of this play was both love and tragedy, which means having a conflict between the protagonist and a powerful force that leads this love to the death of its protagonist.

The Aim

Different Social hierarchies, back time were a huge issue for many families. So, Shakespeare focused on These subjects to attract people and create emotions toward his plays.

According to Aristotle, the aim of tragedies is to make the audience feel pity over the suffering and watching the protagonist's death and this is also what Shakespeare was focusing on.

The emotions

One of the things people have discovered include that reading tragedy and sad stories enables them to experience sadness without anxiety, makes them feel grateful for their close relationships, and causes them to think about what's valuable and meaningful to everyone.
